                                                                                 Amritsar - Golden Temple
 
The Golden Temple, India is located in Amritsar. It is famous not only for its dome that is made of pure gold but also worshiped by Sikhs and people from around the world. It is extremely stunning and tranquil.
 
The name Amritsar means, “Pool of nectar” referring to the holy tank “sarovar“built within the golden temple. Guru Nanak, the founder of the Sikh religion visited the temple; the disciples also did it devotedly followed Guru Nanak’s steps, which lead the temple to be a holy place of the Sikhs not the Hindus.
 
                                
 
Let the means to get to and around Gaya Bihar not worry you. Getting to your destination safely and conveniently is a guarantee.Sri Guru Ram Das Jee International Airport is a few minutes from the city center. The Airport is contemporary, catering for international and local connections.
 
Amritsar railway station is of great importance as it links Gaya to the rest Indian cities. Bookings can be online, at the train station and the booking office in the Golden Temple Complex. For long distances within, cars are most appropriate and accessible many places. Buses operate daily to Delhi, Jammu, Chandigarh, Katra and Dharamsala.
Getting around within is hassle free, taxis, auto -rickshaw and cycle rickshaws are all over and at a cheap price.
In and around the Golden Temple are different types of accommodation facilities. The Golden Temple has hostels that provide accommodation free. Further, there are youth hostels and small guesthouses of the Punjab Tourism Department.
 
 
                                     
 
Quite  a number of hotels located near the Golden Temple are amazing with  landscaping including water bodies hence the dash of panache to the city and other modern amenities.Inns around this place are common to find and offers amazing experience.
 
The best time to visit the Golden Temple is between the months of October and March. Many people prefer visiting at the festivals time  which are mostly religious. Ram Tirath Fair is celebrated at Ram Tirath roughly after Diwali. Pilgrims visit the temple to immerse in the holy tank of the Temple in the early hours of the full moon night. The ceremony is meant to cleanse ones their sins.
 
Great pomp marks the celebration of Diwali. During Jahangir supremacy, Guru Ram Das  reached Amritsar on Diwali after his release from Gwalior fort and was welcomed with  illuminating lamps.Gurupurbs is celebrated around the world, marking the  martydoms and bithdays of Gurus and characterised by devotion and fervor.
 
Others are Basant Panchami at Chheharta Sahib, Baisakhi and New Year.
 
 
                                       
 
Before getting to Amritsar-Golden Temple is wise to know a few things to be on the save side.  
 
Going on holiday to a place that you are  not wholly familiar with is unwise even though  the  accomoadtion and means of tranasport are cheap . Additionall know where you plane will land.

The Golden Temple is a sacred place. Be respectful during the visits of the customs and religion they might be dissimilar from yours. Carry along scarves to cover your head in the temple and this applies to both sexes.  

Taking photos is prohibited in the temple. Visitors can have their photos outside the perimeters of the sacred lake. Do not drink, smoke and spit in the compound.
