                                                                                   “Kili”-The one of a kind Mountain

Kilimanjaro is Africa’s utmost mountain and one of the largest volcanoes on the planet. It is an allegory of beauty for East Africa-standing tall in fascinating remoteness from close coastal scrublands. “Kili” is an inspiration for tourists worldwide.

                                                                                              
Nearly all climbers get to the crater. Those that makes it to Uhuru point, are awarded certificate. The climb is almost another kind of a tour from the tropics to the Arctic.  

Best time to climb the mountain

Mountaineering “Kili” is almost a whole year possibility though the best time is January, February, and September. They are warm months and the clouds are comprehensible.

April and the start of May are heavy rain months or blizzard creating a very beautiful view and a serene lucid mountain.

September and October are gradually warm months. October is suitable for those who want little or no rain, gentle weather and less people on the mountain.

January through March are the warmest months, with very clear clouds and irregular short down pours.
 
Getting there and getting around

Kilimanjaro is accessible in from around 28 locations through air transport in United Kingdom and Ireland such as Condor Airlines, Swiss Airline, KLM, Ethiopian Airlines, and Kenya Airways. Kilimanjaro International Airport is second largest after Julius Nyerere international.

Other types of transport are trains, buses boats and cars. Each has different economical choices and packages.
 
Itches and hiccups?
Due to low temperatures, digital camera equipments perform poorly especially the batteries, so wrap them with warm clothes and carry them in your pocket. Carrying an additional battery is worthy too.
The temperatures at the zenith of the mountain are very cold, getting below freezing point, which could results, to incomplete expedition.
Oedema is an altitude sickness. Fluids build up in the body then gather in the lungs and the brain developing into a serious complication. 
Mosquitoes are also another menace. It is advisable to have protection after the climb.

Where to stay

Once on the mountain, sleeping is mostly under canvas or make reservations on the Marangu Routes.
Hotels-Your stay will be determined by your trek. 
Also available are lodges with modern facilities and amenities, for example Outpost
Huts are also available but generally discouraged.
You can camp for as long as want by paying a fee to National Park authorities.
